Modern Slavery Statement for Notting Hill Man and Van
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Notting Hill Man and Van in respect of our financial year and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. As a provider of man and van and related moving services, we recognise our responsibility to uphold human rights and to act ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Notting Hill Man and Van has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude and child labour. We are committed to ensuring that our business and our supply chains are free from any practice that exploits people or undermines their fundamental rights and freedoms.
We expect the same high standards from all of our suppliers, sub-contractors, labour agencies and other business partners. Any actual or suspected involvement in modern slavery is treated as a serious breach of our standards and may result in termination of contracts or relationships with the parties concerned.
Our Operations and Supply Chains
Our core activities involve local and regional transport, removals and associated logistics. Our supply chains include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, packaging and materials suppliers, facilities and cleaning providers, and labour and recruitment partners. We recognise that some areas of the logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, especially where third-party labour providers are involved.
We are working to identify and assess areas of higher risk within our supply chains and to focus our due diligence efforts on those areas where we can have the greatest impact in preventing modern slavery.
Supplier Due Diligence and Audits
We are implementing and developing a due diligence process for selecting and managing suppliers and contractors. This includes assessing new suppliers for their approach to labour standards, working conditions and compliance with modern slavery laws before they are approved to work with us.
Where appropriate and proportionate to the risk, we carry out supplier audits, which may include on-site visits, document checks and discussions with management about employment practices. We reserve the right to request evidence of policies, procedures and training from our suppliers to confirm their compliance with our requirements.
Existing suppliers are subject to periodic review. If a supplier is unable or unwilling to demonstrate adequate safeguards against modern slavery, we will seek to work with them to improve their practices or we will reconsider the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Notting Hill Man and Van encourages anyone connected with our business, including employees, contractors and suppliers, to raise concerns about any issue or suspicion of modern slavery in any part of our operations or supply chain.
Concerns may be reported to line managers or senior management in person or in writing. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much detail as possible, including dates, locations and the nature of the concern, so that we can investigate thoroughly. We treat all concerns seriously and sensitively and will ensure that those who raise issues in good faith do not suffer any form of retaliation or detrimental treatment as a result.
Where appropriate, we will also cooperate fully with law enforcement or regulatory bodies in investigating and addressing any allegations of modern slavery linked to our business.
Training and Awareness
We aim to raise awareness among our staff of the risks and indicators of modern slavery. Relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, recruitment and supplier management, will receive guidance on recognising warning signs and on how to escalate concerns through the appropriate channels.
We will keep our internal information and guidance on modern slavery under review and update it to reflect changes in legislation, best practice and the circumstances of our business.
Monitoring, Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to continuously improving our approach to combating modern slavery. Our management team monitors the effectiveness of our measures through reviews of supplier performance, incident reports and feedback from staff and stakeholders.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least once every year and updated as necessary to reflect our progress, any changes in our operations and developments in applicable law and guidance. As part of this annual review, we will assess our risk areas, evaluate the impact of our due diligence and training activities, and set priorities for further action in the coming year.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Notting Hill Man and Van, who are responsible for ensuring its implementation and for driving ongoing improvements in our efforts to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking.
